OCDiva: Grant Awarded to UQ Senior Lecturer

Composer Dr Eve Klein and classical vocalist Yasmin Arkinstall are collaborating on a one woman show about Yasmin’s lived experience with obsessive compulsive disorder in the arts. They are joined by musical director Sarah Penicka-Smith and producer Melanie Penicka-Smith. Dr Klein has received a government grant from the Australia Council For the Arts to compose the operatic work.

Yasmin Arkinstall has received a grant from Blacktown Arts for further development of the Klein/Arkinstall project, including opportunities to record the work.

“How a new aria will raise awareness of obsessive compulsive disorder”

New Jersey composer Michelle Greco has composed an aria titled “I Want Answers” for Yasmin Arkinstall. It is set to Yasmin’s text about living with obsessive compulsive disorder.
